hello
im a new zealander with a series 3 flatdeck, still searching for production date/year! - only bought this at the end of last year, so if anyone could help with finding that it would be great!! - it was advertised as 1893....:)
from what i can see by researching the vin number is that it was imported as a CKD.....and its got a Nissan ED33, 4 cylinder !!...
it is not road worthy by NZ standards yet, but am hoping to do it sometime....
i am trying to restore it with both a bit of originality and functionality as well...
does anyone else on here have a series 3 flatdeck? - cant seem to find many anywhere else and would be interested to see what they look like!!

thanks

T

the tyres are off a ditch digger...theyspoil the originality and top speed!, but are awesome offroad!!

yeh the owner before the guy i bought it off was a contractor and did some fencelines planting tree's - if you know nz, it was near te anau so steep as..... - and he made the bar with a fold down tray at the front so he could fit on as many trees......the sides are reasonably straight thanks to that bar as well, so im not complaining at the moment!!

Hi and welcome. like your flatbed - nice and useful  looks in nice order too...:)

We had an old series 3 with similar chevron pattern tyres on, it was pretty special off road, noisy and twitchy on it, but it could essentially go anywhere!!:D

yeah ok, i haven't seen many others using this sort of tyre which is surprising considering how good they were, all you need is a spare set of rims with them on and you are sorted...
these ones are really strong they have already taken a hammering on a ditch digger and then been on a 4wd for 10 years!!! - one was runing at 3psi the other day!!!still looked semi inflated!! - they are about the right pressure for the landrover @ 15psi.....and on-road, becasue these are wide and have low tread with a stiff sidewall they actually track alright!!but i cant imagine what its going to cost to replace them, go into a ditch digging machine dealer and ask for tyres only...:)

Here in the UK, those sorts of tyres are sold for dumper trucks and aren't necessarily any dearer than decent branded AT or MT tyres. Sometimes they're a lot less. You may find it's a bit different in New Zealand though.

Hello and welcome :)
Thanks!

yeh ok, its just hard to find tyres to fit the rims - the tyres i need are 29 -12.5 - 15, but most of the other options only fit either 14/15 inch rims or are too wide....
but im sure i could find something similar...i might check out some of the cheaper brands sometime
