new to the forum looking at buying an 82 range rover

hello, and welcome to my first post. not only am i new to the forum, but im thinking about getting into a 1982 ranger rover for my first rover. its been sitting down the street for about 3 years and im told that it would be tax exempt... not sure about that because i am new to english road tax rules... but on the funny side, i tried to find the bonnet release and i failed to find it. a little help on the placement of that would be greatly appriciated. let me know what you think about it and if you think it would be a good starter rover.

im down near swindon in gloucestershire... the lady that is selling it says that it would be tax exempt... the first reg date was 8 november 1982. because its 27 years old would it be exempt?

1st Jan 1973 is the date for historic vehicle tax exemption

Yep.....1st Jan 1973 or before is tax exempt.

yeah until 2000 it was vehicles over 27 years old then they realised vehicles were lasting too long so they (the DVLA arses) put a blanket cut off date in place just too **** up our lives that little bit more
