Alright fellas am 18 and currently in college/working. starting my lesson next month and atm saving for a defender 90 looking to spend around 4k, just thought id join the site to get as much information as i can and learn and here your experiences and expenses, recommendatory etc!...and also see pictures of your muck trucks as google get boring :rolleyes:
 
i was going to go on my mums or grandads insurace as a named driver who rarely drives and keep my insurance down, ive got 2 friends who own defenders one is 2500 insurance due to all his mod and apparently the other is 1200?

and my mum keeps saying get a little run about, if im getting any little chavy mobile it will be a road legal quad. i hate corsas with a passion! and ive been raised on landrovers due to my grandad having over 15
 
Dont do that, its dodgey to say the least..

Get a runabout for £200- £300, old fiesta etc..then add the landy as 2nd vehicle or get multi vehicle policy. That way you accrue NCB legally.

Do a search about insurance for whippersnappers, there's loads of threads and info.

i was in 2 minds about getting a run about after saving for a lanny and build it for off road use
