Hi all,
I've just bought my first land rover, a freelander Tdi, 2003, and I must say I think I've had my fair share of problems already, I got a bit of a reduced price because it had a "slight" problem with the gear box ( it crunched in 2nd gear) after having the gear box re-built, the fly wheel replaced and a new clutch I thought fantastic!! Then on the way home from having these repairs done I heard and felt a god almighty banging coming from under the car, I couldn't believe my luck, it seemed that the viscos (not sure if that's spelt right) coupling had seized!, thank goodness for friends, I knew a couple of guys who were LR Tech's they popped it up on the ramps and removed the drive shaft and viscos coupling, she drove like a dream, and as I had no intention of taking her off road, I'd leave her with x2 wheel drive for the summer as it is saving me a heap in diesel.
I'd fallen in love with her all over again.
Then this week a new problem, I was driving through the country when the engine management light came on and the she ground to a halt, the AA came to the rescue and took me to the local garage, this time the rear fuel pump had decided it no longer wanted to function, that has now been repaired and I'm hoping everything that can go wrong has already gone wrong, as I really do love this car.
