Hi gents

Ive been looking at getting a landrover for a long time but things keep getting in the way. (loved them since a was a kid). I have lots of great memories about them as my dad had one from new in 1990 and i loved it so i cant wait for my kids to have some adventures in it to.

But now i have finally done it. I started looking at series vehicle but wanted somthing that was i little more usable day to day. Plus it needed to be a seven seater.

So a disco it was to be.

I have a company car for work so i wanted a V8 (dont know anything about lpg and it wont be doing mega miles so wanted to keep it simple and find one without) after looking for what felt like a life time i have found the one. Just waiting for it to be mot'd and it will be delivered. Even managed to swap my hated fiat multipla in for it at the same time.:amen:

Its a 1996, V8iS, Manual with no sunroofs. Mechanically sound with just a little rust on the front inner wings starting to show, a little by seatbelt mounts on the rear and a little on the rear floor. (basically everywhere they do rust but no to bad at the moment)

Im hoping for it to be a bit of a rolling project (as they all seem to be)

I know how frustrating a thread like this is without pictures so i promise to put some on as soon as i get it but i am so excited about getting one that i just wanted to tell you guys.

Thanks for all the great info on here that ive been reading before buying and hopfully i will be able to contribute to the forum as well now (will also need plenty of advice to no doubt)

Will keep you posted

I was just the same as you,got meself a 1996 300 tdi auto ES,Jap reimport.
Was all excited, then reality struck......as the others have said....GOOD LUCK!!!!!:pound:

Well it got dropped off last night after its MOT.

Very very pleased with it, to dark to take any pic's last night and out before it was light this morning so i will take some tonight if im home before dark.

Some bits and bobs to get sorted on it so i think i might start a rolling resto thread for it to document its progress.

Thanks to everyone for their comments
