Right, so selling the 90 and buying a Disco 2 auto. So I have some questions.

1, I live in South Yorkshire and as we all know the Don and Dearne flood every time theres a light drizzle. So I want to be able to drive through those floods, just like I did in my Defender. So, assuming I fit 18 inch alloys, what is the tallest all terrain size tire I can fit. Not muds, ATs.
2, Snorkel is a given.
3, Is the standard air bag suspension adjustable, or should I RIP it out and fit adjustable suspension. Problem is, once I've fitted taller tires, I don't want it to be too tall.
4, The standard fit stereo is ****e. Except for those fold out single din stereos, is there a nice head unit that can go in.

1) 18” will have a smaller max tyre size than 16”. Ultimately rim diameter makes no difference to max tyre size/wading ability. Getting a suspension lift will allow bigger diameter tyres therefore increasing your wading depth a bit.

2) whichever one you get, make sure it is properly sealed and don’t forget axel/gearbox breathers.

3) you have “off road mode” which lifts the arse 2” otherwise it just maintains the standard ride height.

4) if you’ve handy with a dremel, body filler and spray paint you can easily modify the dash console to accept a double-din, touch screen headunit.

I moved on from the Defender to a Discovery 2, though mine was a 110.
I've got to say the advantages, if you get a nice one, are vast.
Putting aside the warmth and comfort and, if you get an auto, the imensely better driver experience, it is difficult now to understand why I didn't do it earlier.
Important to me was a good chassis and no sun roof, that made for a rust free body and a chassis I could treat and make last a lifetime.
I've put a heavy duty set of springs and shockers on that give a 2" lift and together with a snorkel (which I dont have as yet) id say thats all you will need.

It will wade just fine, but it has electrics which may not like that. Depends on its condition. I wont wade mine ever as it would probably kill something and i dont want that. But you may be absolutely fine. A fender or D1 would be my choice for any wading. Or a D5 : )
If you get one with an amp, fitting a single din is still a faff and sound is never 100%. Better to rewire speakers direct but thats also a faff.
Tallest tyre you should fit imho, is a 245 70 16. Whether its an at or mt makes no real odds.

Cheers, muds are noisier than ATs
