Series 3 New tilt recommendations

Hi all

Been running my series 3 topless all summer but now need a full canvas top for it. Have been reasonably happy with with my Exmoor 3/4 tilt with the exception of the straps rotting.

I want a full tilt in black with side windows. Alternatives seem to be All Wheel Trim or UnderCover Covers. The latter get good reviews but I've not seen one in the flesh, and the undercover covers website is rubbish.

Can't find much info on AWT but I know they are well established.

Not sure exmoor actually do a black. Their sand colour is shown on Paddocks at £258, AWT is £333 in black, not sure about UCC.

Any thoughts?

Have you looked directly on exmoors website?
I assume you have the rest of the kit to make it work.

Under cover covers is very good and are very helpful if you phone them up and talk to them. I got one earlier this year. very good quality and more importantly a perfect fit.

Had a look at exmoor trim site but didn't find it great. Couldn't see black. Will look again later.

And yes. I have everything else. Currently running open top or with bikini. Heavy duty hood sticks on back.

I fitted an Undercover Covers tilt a few years ago, it was a good fit and has lasted well apart from the front where the fabric ispulling away from the securing tape that threads around the projections on the top of the windscreen. I would buy another from them.

I bought from Exmoor earlier this year but I've always heard good things from Undercover Covers too. I don't think Exmoor do black but they do a nice navy blue mohair version.

It's very much a personal thing but I particularly liked the size of the windows that Exmoor fit and they seem in proportion to the Land Rover / style.

Are the exmoor ones larger then? All the ones I've seen look a bit small. Was thinking of getting AWT to quote on a black one with larger window if poss.

Just found it. And they do them in black. Think that might be the one to have.

I think the Exmoor side windows are actually slightly smaller compared to the ones I'd seen from Undercover Covers. I'm not certain - worth checking, but I think the larger side windows on the Undercover Covers type come just below the top of the side bench seat height where as the Exmoor was just above.

Certainly the time of year to think about buckling down!

Under cover covers do different sizes of rear window, which you can choose from. The very small size originally fitted for very earl series vehicles through to an over sized large window taking up most of the rear. I know this because I wanted mine to be as original as possible so had to specify that option. Apparently most people want the largest window the can so this is their default size.

I would agree with this, when I was looking I thought the exmoor side windows were very small. I'm sure if you wanted to you could specify the sizes you wanted with undercover covers as I am sure they make them in house, and they can do bespoke builds for anything according to the website.

Will give them a call and discuss then. Jo huge rush. It's garaged so can afford time for a bit of research.

+1 recommendation for Undercover Covers . They can do anything you want in canvas , within reason , and most certainly do it in house . Last year I left my Series One 107" with them and they made a bespoke tilt for my non standard rear body .

Phoning is definitely better than emailing . Be prepared to give them a decent amount of time to do the work as they are usually inundated .

where do you get the HD hoodsticks?

I got my sticks from Undercover (best price and checked included everything and is galvanised although I haven't opened the box yet - had 3 months!) and canvas from AWT but not fitted them yet. The AWT windows looked right and the price was the best but when I spoke with Undercover they told me they'd do a deal on both which they didn't mention when I bought the sticks.

Will see if I can find them. They were from a company who make them themselves. Think they were called hingeandbracket. Oddly always very difficult to search on eBay. Never comes up under hood sticks. But does if you search seat belt bar and the 'other items' if I recall. Will try that now and get you an item number.
