Hi guys,
I am after a new power steering box for my 2001 td5 as I have a leak from the bottom of the shaft, gradually getting worse, and it is time to do something about it!
I would prefer a reconditioned box really due to meanness - however Adwest/Magal want in excess of £300 for a new one and Craddocks no longer do recon ones saying that the company they deal with no longer do them (despite them still being listed on their site for around the £150 mark
)
Spoke to my local indy, who can offer me a Britpart one for £388 or a Bearmach one for £408. I would definitely choose the Bearmach one out of the two, but am not sure whether there is somebody out there offering a decent non-leaking replacement - I have heard mixed messages about National Power Steering's recon boxes so am a bit hesitant about using them too!
