Just had a load of these steering guards made. I fitted one to my 90 even though its really just for looks and a bit of advertisement but is there if i ever did need it. Electro coated so the paint will take a beating and are made from 5mm thick steel, But what do you all think :D can come in plain silver if wanted but the colour option is there. EDIT : please note i am sorting out site sponsorship so please dont see this is spam

5mm is crap for a steering guard, it bends easily ..

there not free :p but i am doing them at a very good price of £85.00. We are soon to test them out offroad but after checking around we thought 5mm steel would cater for nearly all owners without being to heavy duty ;)

.. and mine is welded with strengthening gussets!

Mind, can't bend the fecker straight again, even driving over it didn't work!

Looks ****. **** off.:nospamhere:
your entitled to your opinion but it is not spam as i am sorting out site sponsorship with accywingy ( who is currently away abroad so hence why the site sponsorship is moving slowly ) message him if you like to get confirmation

no probs ;) his last reply was that he is finding it hard to get internet reception abroad but have just sent him another to hurry him up :p

Fortunate for you that your Internet seems to be working. Oh, well you'll soon have 50 posts and then you'll be able to play the game by the same rules as everyone else, some on whom may be customers for you.:nospamhere:

This is a new type of coating but as with any paint there is always something that will chip it. I can offer a galvanised version instead
Its not the chips its rust bubbling up under the coating from tiny rust specks on the metal when coated. Galv can be good, but is badly affected by road salt in the winter, so I always prime with stabilising primer and topcoat too. I wouldnt use less than 10 mm steel either it has to take the weight of the landy if it gets perched on a rock or stump handy to be able to jack under it too.

Sounds too thin. Dunno wot thickness razs ones were (rip) but i bent that and it were more heavy duty and it had recovery eyes.cant remember what he charged for his but he gave a good discount to lz members

I am pretty fussy when it comes to rusty bits so i make sure everything should last as long as i hope it would.

The treatment for the guards are as follows:
laser cut, bent, sand blasted, primed, electrocoated and top coat. So i would hope they last a while :D
