no, plenty of oil.

The transfer box output shaft needs replacing as its slipping round its splines, this is making a severe impact load onto the drive members which isnt helping. But its always the same bloody one.

Samins 110 - you know the state of that!

Sell you a nice P38

i loved that car.... wimmins....

well i just sorted out the vacuum pump with a new un' as the vacuum being generated was pants. Mucho better now!

fitted the other challenge rim and fitted a 12v junction box (positive) in the engine bay with a spare bit of winch power cable to the battery so that i can jump start the car without having to mess about with the seats. Also it means i can take a good live more easily to the engine bay for extra accesories :)

reet i have this disco in the garden now sitting there having spent ages on it trying to get it started, but have decided to break it.

Thinking of stealing the 300tdi and autobox out of it and shoving it in the 110. As my 110's already been converted to a 200tdi from a disco (engine sits very far back!)

Will the engine mounts need to be moved for the 300tdi and autobox to fit? (very confused here).

At present its got a disco transfer box but i would put a defender one back on as its a csw and with the roof tent / box and all the kit its getting heavy!

ah i understand the engine mounts will be in a different place? but thats not too big an issue :)

Just trying to source a defender transfer box

already got a disco one in it. That one of yours will go in the wiffs, i use mine for towing and its carrying alot of weight on the roof etc, its gutless! Want a 1.4 to go with the autobox :)

went to try to do the pump timing more accurently tonight. Found that i dont have a plug in the base of the crankcase. Doh!

Seems a full timing belt check is the way to go!

it's a wading plug, shouldn't be in all the time or it can fill up with crud n oil from poor seals. :)

stick it in before deep wading to help stop water getting on the clutch.. but most housing aren't sealed so if you stay submerged for a bit then it will still fill.

I know.... but there's no hole!

So no plug either ;)

New spare wheel carrier arrived tonight. Jesus what a faff to fit the damn thing. The previous owner had previously patched the crossmember so the mounting holes were covered. Urgh.

Sorted now.

Didn't want to lz and get a flat and end up stuck!

this morning i have welded up the spring mount and the spring retaining plate.

also put the heavy duty springs back on as the light load ones were being overwhelmed. Very comfy but there wasnt much travel left!

have wired up the heated screen, usb sockets so the kids have got as many charging points as they need for all their crap and connected up the boost gauge at last

off to lz now!

good luck fella :)

well we made it back,

whilst there have made up my mind on a few bits. The MOT runs out in 2 weeks so i might as well use the opportunity of it being off the road for a few months whilst i sort out all its little issues to change some more major stuff...

First of all, its getting changed to a 300tdi, the 200tdi has been a great engine but I prefer the routing of stuff on the 300, also mine is getting on a bit mileage wise.

Then its getting an autobox...

and the disco transfer box is going to be replaced by a defender one...

finally the rear salisbury is going to be converted to discs because im crap with drum brakes and much happier with discs... and thats about the only reason
