well i bought me'sen a 110 csw that was tax'd and mot'd for 12 months the other week for the princely sum of £1800 notes.

Its in really dodgy camo paint - half gloss?!!!!! the rear crossmember is probably going to watch replacing at some point next year, the brakes are eerrr... interesting ? (politically correct for scary as hell) and the p.o spaz has put a 4" lift on it without updating the radius arms or propshafts.

since buying it i have :-

fitted smart car leather front seats
replaced the low back 2nd row seats with high backs.
installed a laycorn storage box in the back
installed a rear bench seat and seatbelts
roof rack ladder
8" hid spotlights
winch bumper
13,000 winch with synth rope (need to wire it up yet)
replaced the horrible bonnet with a gloss back one
fitted a freelander door pocket to the back door!
change a broken drive flange
33" x 12.50 dynapro mt's fitted

most importantly got rid of the god awful welsh flags on the numberplates!

Ive just gone and blown £390 on a new top o' the line front propshaft double cardon extreme wotsit to minimise the vibration coming off the front.

  • also got another 3 smart car seats to replace the 2nd row seats
  • the fuel pump needs tweaking as its properly gutless! and i have a load of replacement 4 ply silicone pipe to replace the boost pipework.
  • got an rtc damper to go on the front
  • tubular front turrets and big bore shocks to go on allround
  • rear view camera setup on the shelf ready to go in
  • 50" led lightbar to go on the front
  • led reversing, side, brake and indicator lights to go on
  • wide arches
  • heated fuel filter to go on and twin fuel tank for svo.
  • need to replace the vacuum pump for the brake system - current one seems to be unable to generate sufficient vacuum when in comparison to the one of my other 200tdi.
  • got some tube on order to make some additional supports for the tombraider sidesteps i had the other day, only 1 set of brackets were included and they dont like it up em'
  • picked up some foil bound foam the other day from lidl which i will start adding to certain areas to insulate it and then add some dynamat over the top for noise insulation.
should get most of that lot on this friday.

after that its a paint job to remove the horrid camo paint - going gloss navy blue with white challenge wheels and white roof.

ive got a pic i will upload when i get in. Bloody IS have cut off access to online file servers at the min and the wifi's being gay so i cant do it on me phone.

Most recent pic from 2 weeks ago.. done quite a bit since

ive now got a really good way of installing the smart car seats sorted though that only takes a few minutes :) ill get some pics of them if its still light when i get in.

Those smart car seats look great, do they have any lift of function or you have to unbolt the whole seat to get at the battery?

the rails split with some small 10mm bolts, takes about 2 minutes to get at the battery.

Im going to fit some quick release fittings, i just havent gotten around to it as i was keen to get them in and i didnt have any that fitted on the shelf :)

You have me thinking now, those seats are reasonably priced but finding a whole matching set of leathers may be a different story. Thanks for sharing the idea :)

ive been installing smart car seats into all my defenders. quite a few others on here have isntalled them also as its dead easy to do.

i have 5 more smart car seats kicking about in the garage. They are going in the back. all heated :)

I literally just finished bolting my old seats back in after finishing the recon of the interior. Once the budget allows I can see some of these smart seats looking really good with a retrim maybe in harris tweed and leather.

ive just ordered all the fasteners i need to make them quick release. should take less than 20 seconds to get the seat off once they are in :)

Ordered em from ching chong though... so best not have a crash

i will do a write up once its all fully installed as i want. Takes about 10 minutes to install each front, provided the original bolts come out ok (mine were utter swines!!!)

Ill also do a write up on converting 2nd row seats to them.

Looking forward to it, my damn shopping list is growing quicker than i can bolt the bits on, shame on you!
