Hi all

I am a new freelander owner, well new to me anyway. I have a few questions that if possible would like answers too

We have a 1.8 Freelander XEI petrol model on a X plate (2000)

1 - Is there a fuel warning light and if so where is it situated ?

2 - Whats the recommended cam belt change interval (car has done just under 36000 miles)

3 - When does the radiator fan kick in to cool the engine down ?

Cheers :)

I don't think the petrol warning light was fitted on the early models, mine is a 98 XEi and doesn't have one. What does your handbook say?

Cambelt change 72,000 or 6 years, whatever comes first. I wouldn't skip it even if you have low mileage, it could prove costly.

I really don't notice my fan coming on, but if your temp gauge is ok I wouldn't worry. If you want to check it just run the engine at reasonable revs while your parked, as there is no air coming in to cool your engine the fan should kick in.

Happy freelandering.

Re the cooling fans, also understand they should run the moment the AC is switched on?
