new or rwconditioned vcu?

Right am about to get a new vcu. Now I read so many things about people being ripped off. How good is a reconditioned vcu and anybody know a trustworthy supplier? How goodare the reconditioned ones you can buy on eBay? Just because you have buyers protection with it! Please let me know! Experiences welcome! Preferrely before I jumped into a big mistake hehehe

Without doubt - Bell Engineering - google them and read what they have to say and can do.
Recon from them with new bearings really good - I have one and they fitted it for me while I waited and on a Saturday morning.

Use bell engineerinrg. I have one from them and it works well. Resonable price too. Beware a company called ********* as there units do not give 4wd. I have had bad experience with them. I also found them very rude and unhelpfull when i complained about the unit.

Go with Bell engineering. Very good.

I bought a genuine GKN vcu and bearings for £380

Bells recon VCU with bearings, delivery and collection of old unit £260.

What's wrong with it?
The way I see it is we know LR stuff wears our quickly and they dont care do you may as well buy from a reconditioner who does care - it probably will last longer.

Just had my unit refurbed by Bell engineering.

Before:- took 2 foot Stilton and big pull to only just turn it.

After:- if you grip both shafts by hand they will just turn, very very slowly and viciously!

They arranged pick up on a Friday and it was back home following Wednesday.

You used cheese to test your VCU are you crackers!!!
