Hi everyone,

I haven't done the 4x4 scene yet, so after 20 years playing with Rover v8s in Sd1s and Hillman Imps (!) I thought it's time to buy a Landy.

Need to gradually immerse the family slowly into the scene- a Lightweight would be a step ( or three ) too many for my wife.
I'm itching for a late '80s 110 v8 on LPG, but a Freelander 2 will probably suffice for now. We have a Peugeot 607 already with the same 2.2hdi engine, and after 110,000 miles it's just run in sweetly.

I've driven a 110 around the country on a few 'excursions' in a former life, so the drafty, ratly experience is already in the blood - more so after driving the Imp around.

Fl2s are pretty expensive, so I could do with a few words of advice to avoid making any mistakes. I'm sure that Friday feeling still exists even amongst LR employees from time to time, so those tell tale symptoms to avoid would be appreciated.

Cheers !
