Hi,thanks for letting me join.my name is efrem and live in Wales with my wife Caz.we own 3 landtovers, a series 3 which we'v had for 17yrs, a commercial disco 2td5 and Caz drives a freelander 1 td4.we would very much appreciate some help with our disco.on way home it decided to smoke very excessive (black) and then start to rev upwards.in sheer panic I just turned the key off and the engine seemed to stop.on opening the bonnet we found a clean engine bay with no oil splattered anywhere but only to find the coolant bottle bubbling and over flowing. The temp gauge was just below normal running temp.we were lucky a gentleman towed us home not wanting to try and restart the engine.we've checked the turbo to find its freely moving, found a fuse( f5 I think)40amp had gone.waiting for new fuse to arrive.a mechanic tried to start the truck to only find it turning over and not attempting to fire up.he thought that the oil level was high as to which it was when we purchased it.we took alot of oil out using an oil vac.another person mentioned hydro lock, have no idea.apparently alot of electronic gadgets on there which is way above my knowledge. Only bought the truck 4mths ago.hoping to god it' not cracked the head as we don't have that sort of money now after buying the truck.any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, efrem

Hello mate, sorry to hear your problem sounds to me as if the fuel is going into the engine and it's tried to do what's called a run away where it revs uncontrollably and goes bang.you did the right thing turning it off. I wouldn't try starting it till you find the cause or it may fire up and destroy itself, think it's definitely overfueling related.post up all the symptoms in order of occuring on the disco section and the guys will help.Again don't let anyone mess with it until you see what they say
