Two things here:
1) the orange EML light should extinguish as part of the self test procedure after a few seconds. If not then I suspect you have another problem.
2) Does the orange EML light does not flash after you press the pedal 5 times?

No it stays on all the time but when the car was running the light used to go off once the car started and it does not flash after pressing 5 times

Strange thing is,
Just checked the handbook, it appears it should stay on until the engine is running, and then go off. But mine does not . mine works the way I wrote it above......
But then my Engine light does flash when i press the throttle 5 times.

Can you explain your issue a bit more? Which light is coming on? And are you sure your battery is in good shape?
