Hello,
I bought my first Land Rover when in my twenties and living in Kenya in 2004, it was a 1995 Discovery 300 Tdi that I was very proud of, not long later bought a 1993 Range Rover 3.9 Vogue SE auto. After these I had a short lived dalliance with Toyota Land Cruiser ownership (105 GX), I replaced this with a beautifully "safari" prepared Defender 3.5 v8 with roof hatches, winch, water storage, etc that wasn't reliable enough nor suited to increasingly congested Nairobi traffic so replaced that with a 2000 Discovery 2 4.0 v8 auto, and a Range Rover 4.6 HSE auto that I still have in Nairobi as I am there frequently. I bought my sixth (first in UK) Land Rover six months ago, an ex-Police 2003 Discovery 2 Td5 auto. These vehicles have been in the back drop to many fond experiences and memories over the years (and some not so fond but memorable all the same). Suffice to say I quite enjoy Land Rovers and would feel something is missing without having at least one around to look after. I try to buy the best maintained vehicles I can and gradually improve them and / or the condition over time. I have grand ideas to begin doing some of the maintenance on the UK car myself and look forward to sharing knowledge with other owners.
