hi. name is susan, just traded in my man for a 1994 defender 90 three months ago. have had the car in shop more than i care for - but apparently that's the norm. my car's name is jezzabel - she's a wicked ole queen with lots of makeup. the fellow that owned her before i did pimped her quite a bit. wish he had spent a little more on the important stuff. unfortunately, almost everything on this car is original - as in never been fixed or replaced. labor is cheap and i found a mechanic that worked for land rover distributor for 30 years. parts can take a while. just had the front diff taken apart, patched, welded, replaced crown, pignon with used but good and all new bearings. now the engine is blowing oil out the dipstick - i'm afraid it's going to have to go back in and hope nothing more serious than a cracked ring. runs good - still got good power going up and down mountains, but doesn't want to start up lately - crank and crank before she fires up. will keep posted on outcome on defender subforum.
