day 3 of Land Rover ownership and still loving it! Just acquired a series 2a, 1968, bottled doing a complete restore myself and have a fairly comprehensively restored machine. Looking forward to getting my hands dirty and learning to work on her. Hence I will be needing advice. Thanks in Advance!

First thoughts were around security. Hidden lockable cut off, steering wheel locks, or ? Obvs just remove the rotor arm! Thoughts, and advice please!

Welcome to LZ. :)

Petrol Series, excellent choice of vehicle.

This section is not really for technical queries, it is for Introductions. There is a great deal of info about Security already on the forum, but if you want more, it might be a good idea to post in a more relevant section.

However, as I am now here, I shall make a few suggestions. Series are not quite as much at risk as Defenders. The main risk is whilst the vehicle is parked where it is kept. The less people that know where it is kept, the less likely they are to nick it. So for me, parking it in a garage, ideally with another car, alarmed, in front of the doors at night, is a very good way to go.

Solutions which simply prevent the vehicle being driven away may not work, as many vehicles are stolen and removed using trailers or recovery vehicles.

welcome.
my advice on security: always have something obvious to try and deter, otherwise you'll just have a busted up landrover on your drive when they've got ****ed off trying to nick it.
