just got a series 3 on a galv defender chassis no mot or tax so thought get that and do my old mans 90 up which been sat there for few year not turned a wheel and also got a 300tdi lump and disco rolling chassis so was going to make 3 into one mint one and sell the other bits to help fund it, except since i got this series 3 i don't want to strip it it's so land rover rough and ready so might put on hold and used this for a but i notice the series 3 missing a few mot bits eg ::
no fog light or switch
no hazard switch
so i guess they dont have them in general do they ????
also left hand indicator works mint but the right one the green light comes on but no flashing and nothing on the outside ??
bit of welding on the foot panel and should pass mot :)

There was life before hazard lights ;) :)

Also we used to keep our eyes open in fog and slow down, if you didn't you ran into the back of some ruddy indestructable LR with poxy little 2" diameter lights on each side :p :D

Both 'faults' were perfectly legal in the 1970s, the indicator may be the relay, or if youu have the clicking it might just be a manky wire, supply side or earth :)

i never use them any way just they like to test them for mot so if they say something i can tell them where to go .
no there no clicking on the right hand side so ill see if its a two or 3 pin relay can get one
cheers guys

If the work was done prior to 1998 or it's a late series three it can have coil springs.
and late ones were built after 1973 anyroad

not sure about it having a chassis from a defender though.

I'm sure the english language has the capacity for punctuation, it's purpose I believe is to break a string of text into manageable sections that make sense and inform the reader.

Your point being?

My point being, this!

Yes... i know that... I wasn't accusing the owner of having an illegal vehicle (yet) i was mearly enquiring if it had springs or not.

make the disco rolling chassis in to a play toy offroader reinstate the series and the defender and if it was not fitted originally how can you test an item that was not fitted when the vehicle was made its reasonably impractable as it met the standards of its day and was legal and road worthy so no problem

no it's not a tax free one missed out by 3 months :( :(
but that was the plan i bought it for the galv defender chassis and 300tdi tub and sides and wings and the husky super winch :)
then take the dai****u engine out and from the front of the tub off put my old man's 90 seat box , bulkhead , doors ,front end (apart from the battered wings ) the disco 300tdi engine and transfer box and axles to make a sweet 90
but thinking on it as it is as a series 3 and great to drive
cheaper insurance
its a proper ruff and ready mean looking landy
+ less work to do all that
but need to sort this out 1st as i found the flasher relay but also found all this :(
