Welcome to LZ.Hi!
Well, it conked out and wouldn't restart. Seems the ECU is borked (topside switch and open injector faults reported).
All part of the LR experience, I guess
Thanks, I may do later, although I think I just need to get my ECU refurbed or replaced.Welcome to LZ.
I suggest posting about that issue in the Defender section, link below.

Fortunately not, the whole vehicle was lifted. The recovery guy said that towing defenders can cause big problems if done wrong (I'm glad he knew this, as I didn't!)Was it towed on its back wheels?
Nope, the manifold has been blowing for a few weeks, before I even took it off road. It does have a stage 1 remap from Alive, and I hear that can often cause the manifold to warp. I've been recommended a local company who will skim it for not much money, and am confident I can remove and refit (thanks YouTube!)Did you get it wet?
Thanks for the welcome.
I'm not sure about attempting an ECU repair myself, but I may have a proper look later to see if I can find any info / instructions about the repair procedure.
At least the time off the road will give me a chance to get the exhaust manifold sorted
No can do. I spoke to them, and they said that they cannot fix the particular faults that I have. Empire said that they can usually fix these problems, but not always. I need to have a proper look into it later - I might just buy a used one from eBay and transfer the map etc across. Are you sending the ECU to Alive to be fixed?

Yep, I certainly don't want to lose the remap, as it drives (drove ) really nicelyOk sounds like you are on top of it, was just concerned you sent it somewhere and they basically just sent you back a standard 1.

Thanks. I'll be there. MGood luck and I guess we will be seeing you around in the fender section then
