Hi all
newly signed up looking for info on P38 so I'd better introduce myself....

Previously I have owned/broken/fixed:

1983 RR Classic with the three speed auto box
1989 RR Classic - 3.5 with auto box, LPG
1968 Ser 2a 88"
1978 Ser 3 109" with 3.5 V8 conversion

I sold my last RR 7 years ago as we no longer needed a tow vehicle having moved from a horse trailer to a lorry. Now we're moving back to a trailer/tow vehicle as we are using the lorry so infrequently.

I'm handy with the old spanners and welding kit but modern car electronics leave me sometimes baffled (so things could get interesing)

Currently keeping an eye open to see what prices are like as will not be in a position to buy anything until we sell the lorry.

Defender 300 TDI.

Pulls like a train and the socket set is all you need.

If you have a gameboy then get a TD5. Plug that in and press reset and you'll be sorted.

Graeme, the computers aren't scary they're just electronic nannies. With your experience you probably know how to trace rough idling to say a leak in the intake without a computer needing to tap you on the arm and point it out. Plenty of people out there who still take care of their cars using common sense and general knowledge. Hope you do decide to get back in a Rangie and come on down to the RR section to share your tales.
