Few months back I changed me clutch, gearbox and transfer box and noticed the rubber mounts for the gearbox were shot.

Ordered some new rubber gearbox mounts off interweb, when they arrived was the dreaded blue packet ****part.

I had me gearbox off anyway so couldn't go pick up new en's thaught put them on as it's just rubber mounts shouldn't be too bad!!!

On tick over it shackes the truck like hell, the rubber is too solid it doesn't dampen any of the vibrations.

I've had them on for about 2 months and they are still rock solid and is doing my head in every time i come to a stop everything inside is shaking and seems like it's going to break off.

Question: is there anyway to soften the mounts up? Penetrating fluid on them? or any ideas hahaa???

Can't be fagged to swap mounts again as without taking me box off again it will be a bugger!!

Cheers

I suspect that the mounts you bought are just carp and you will need to get some more.

Sorry, but the blue box strikes again!

Send them back.

you can change them with the box in place just jack it up a bit to take weight and swap the mounts out, you can do this with the round ones and also the later square type, they are only around £8 each for gen LR ones, the square ones are sided.
