new front radius arms!lighter?

i recently bought a pair of new radius arms that were advertised as being 40% lighter.(mm4x4)
the arms i got sent were not the same as the pictured qt3 arms.
the new pair do have weight saving holes drilled out of them.
i weighed an arm and i think it came in at 8kg.
i wonder if the original arms are 40% heavier or have i been sent a heavier pair??
how much do the qt3 arms weigh?

Given the weight of a landy front axle, I don't think that even a 40% weight saving on the radius arms is gonna make fook all difference to the unsprung weight. It's just a marketing gimmick.

it doesnt make a knats worth of difference but what i was sold wasnt the same as the picture and im not sure if they are 40% lioghter!
maybe 40% heavier!

QT have had lots of problems with those so called weight saving arms, many of them have cracked on the front radius - so the newer versions dont have the series of holes in the webbing

were you really attracted to them because they were advertised as weight saving ?

but how do you know they will SEND qt arms?

Gezz has been stitched by MM so who knows what paddocks will send. Although, did you order a pair to solve your lift wooo's Tre?

Yes, I ordered mine from Paddocks, they didn't have any stock so they said they'd get them sent direct from QT. I offered to collect them and save the delivery charge. Phoned QT and they said that one of their engineers lives in my village so he'd drop them off.
So, free delivery at the Paddocks price.

My son tried to get them direct from QT at trade price through the garage where he works, but they wouldn't supply.

im changing the bushes and struts/springs so i thought a new set of radius arms would go nicely with the galvy chassis.will contact mm4x4 and enquire why i got a replacement.
gonna end up with a new bloody landy once i finish with her!!
