Just spent an hour removing the centre console to replace the dicky fag lighter with a new one only to find that the new one didn't work either.
My fault. I didn't check whether there was any power getting to it after checking the fuse and seeing it was still good, presumed it must be the lighter itself.
Does anybody know if the fuse in the car is fed from another one or maybe a relay or is it just part of the general loom?
I checked the fuses under the bonnet and they are all live when the engine is running apart from two 40 amp ones which have pics of a manual above them.
I've used an existing fused supply that someone else has fitted to power the fag lighter. I assumed it was left over from a previous owner's radio sub woofer or something? After putting everything back together again i discovered it's something to do with the bodged in switch to isolate the electric front seats. Given that the driver's seat is fully back and with both seats fully reclined, that will be first job tomorrow after i get home from work as i don't think driving to Malvern on Sunday for the 4x4 auto jumble will be very feasible...
