Hi all and merry christmas i've just got a td4 about 5 weeks ago but dont think much of the heaters is this the norm or can i check anything? any help would help thanks.
graeme.

Hi & Merry Christmas, I've just bought an 03 TD4 ES Auto today, and the heater works very well so I guess yours should also be better.

do you a fuel burning heater on your td4 mine has and warms up in no time look under the front bumper passenger side if there is a small exhaust you have one it might not be working

Have a :search: there have been a few threads on heater problems.
Some have found that the problem 'suddenly cleared' when they tried bleeding the system.
Others not so lucky - possibly of circulatory problems or blocked heater cores - unlikely on the later models unless someone has put some leak seal into the system! :screaming_bug_eye_f
FBH seems to have been common extra up to 05/55 but most 06/56 seem to only have the ceramic heater booster no FBH :(
TD4 heaters do work ok but they are not super fast this weather without a FBH to get them pre-heated.
Once the engine is up to temp it is certainly adequate to keep the insides very warm if that's how you like it? :)

My misses takes 10 miles plus to get luke warm and thats how it stays, the cabin is not hot just warm and you can tell becuase your bloody freezing.

You mentioned a ceramic heater booster how can I tell if this is fitted and/or working on her 2006 SE?

Regards

True words.

Im assuming its been fully serviced before we purchased it but you know what happened to the cat that got curious.

Im also thinking perhapse the thermostat is no good but reading up on that its a bugger to get to.

Thanks.

don't assume its ok because its been serviced. Flush the system yourself and put some new coolant in it.

Wise words from Howardo there;)

First thing I do on getting a new motor is give it a full service, it's suprising how things will suddenly start working better after you do it.

LOL now thats a very nice guy and what more can I ask for from a gent and a great forum.

But...................... Im miles from you but thanks for the offer :)
