Hi Everyone

I have just bought a 2009 HSE Automatic two days ago and have never had a LR before . My Now Departed Father in Law (4 years Ago) was an avid fan and had many and also a Willys Jeep that we just sold recently for £15000 . I have driven all sorts of cars and 4x4's and sold my Golf GTI Edition 30 as i am now semi retired and need a more practical car for towing and moving stuff about . Also i like the idea of the four wheel drive especially with some of the weather we have had over recent years . My first thoughts are that its a little under powered from the 300bhp that i was previously used to and i assume i will get used to that . Also i am needing a towbar and cannot find a DIY fitting guide as i am sure i can fit the bar itself , its the electrics that i will need a hand .
I have been a german car owner generally having had BMW VW and Mercedes and am amazed as the cost of the services that my car has had . I think every one is over £500 and its had five ! Is this normal for LR's ? If so i know why many LR owners used my father in law - Maurie Peart if anyone knew him , would be good to hear stories :)
He was also a renowned Jaguar Mechanic and other prestige marques like RR , Bentley and AM .
Now i don't have him i will need some advice and tips about maintenance upgrades etc and wonder who might be the person/garage to see in the Ipswich area .
Anyway watching the Footy but will be back :)

Jeep was joint ownership in the family - Pain in the **** to keep it running with parts really expensive and 6v electrics etc. Not really a car you can use as a car either !
