Maybe somebody could make photo of expansion tank? Just interesting have tank one or two welding lines.

Here's my recent tank. Came from eBay at under £15. It's been on for 12 months, without an issue. However the TD4 engine does run cool, so it's not under much pressure.

I have reply from Rimmer Bros, they sent to me photos of OEM and after market tanks.

OEM (Britpart):

What i see: Britpart tank- same as Land Rover, but in another box. In another words, Land Rover uses Britpart tanks. Same one welding line.

Aftermarket:

Two welding lines as original tank from factory! Only one bad thing- Made in CN...

Britpart is not the same as genuine Land Rover sourced parts. The whole OEM tagging of parts is a minefield and whilst they may be sourced from the same supplier may not be there same factory or specifications as genuine Land Rover.

The only way to be sure you get genuine Land Rover parts is to buy them from a Land Rover dealer direct and certainly for U.K. comes with a 2 year parts and labour guarantee

scott61 was your engine hot when you took the picture if not the water should be between the lines and fill when the engine is cold and you must see to that rust or the tratters will be leaving comments LOL

teddywood1, no, the engine was cold, and I noticed the level was a bit high, and did wonder if anyone would comment on it, LOL. it's on the to-do list, along with the rust :D

I noticed that all three tanks broken in same place!
BTW still no money return or replacement from Rimmer Bros.
Just interesting, all new Land Rover cars assembled from parts with same low quality ?

Sorry my mistake - the photos of the Britpart and Bearmach parts threw me

Are you certain that there is not overpressure in the system causing the failure of the tank?

I use original tank without problems... and as i said before, i tested some caps, all 110kpa. So, if there is over pressure, valve in cap should release. Unless new tanks are designed for 20kpa :)

All tanks sent back to Rimmer Bros.
But still no reactions, i'm feeling tricked.
Sometimes they just ignore me.
Probably i should contact buyer right office.
