Hi
New to the forum and thought i'd ask the experts for some advice.:)

I bought my P38 at the end of last year knowing that there was an issue with the engine.

I'm looking to get a new engine (coscast??) and welcome any recommendations/suggestions/companies/individuals to carry out the work.

I've also been looking at second hand supercharger engines and was wondering if this conversion has been carried out previously.

Thanks in advance guys.

Joe

An outfit called RPi in Norwich had a limited number of Coscast blocks a few months ago. You can buy the block and do it yourself, or they will build the engine up for you and if the car is trailered to them, they will do the fitting. They specialise in the P38 V8 engines and their knowledge is amazing.

I had my P38 serviced, repaired and MOTed there in November and the service was excellent - they get customers from all over Europe sending vehicles for engine transplants. Don't come cheap though!!

Where abouts in the UK are you Joe?

small production run by cosworth, personally I prefer top hat liners

thanks for the replies guys.

The reason i was considering a new engine was that i did not want to spent £1k getting a second hand lump and fitting it to have it go in a couple of thousand miles.

The existing engine although still driving fine, needs the gasket done. Again getting the gaskets done (circa £600) then finding that the liners had slipped???? Is there a way of telling if the liners have dropped without taking the heads off?

Thanks again

Joe
