I've recently bought a Discovery 4 HSE Luxury and I'm very much enjoying the car. I bought the car from Ongar Bridge in Essex and was very pleased with the experience. I'm gradually making a few improvements and hope that I can call on the experience of members of the forum once in a while to help me on the way. The car is in good condition, though I'm hoping to do a bit of rustproofing over the next few weekends, while the weather is still good. Are there any areas underneath in particular that I should treat with wax?? Also, I think I have the problem with the sunroof blind clip in that it won't hold the blind in the closed position. A new foam pad hasn't really sorted the problem, so I'd like to replace the clip that is mounted on the headlining. Can the clip be replaced without removing the headlining? Hope it might. That's all for now. Thanks for any help you can give. Kind regards, Peter.

Hi there Peter,

Welcome to the fold.

Rust proofing wise I would make sure that all the plastic skirting and trims are removed prior to coating and cavity protection and then refitted and reapplied around them, make sure that the rear wheel arches and especially the chassis get a good coating but basically get the whole thing done and then reapplied every couple of years.

Thanks all. I should be able to take a day of leave on Monday and as the weather should be good, I should be able to spend a good bit of time under the car. I've used Dinitrol and some of the Bilt Hamber waxes before, so I think I'll stick with these (unless anyone knows of something better) and give the chassis a good coating. Thanks again.
