Hi All,

Just bought my first defender since trialing then with my dad when I was a kid. She's a td5 G4 edition !

Currently buying all the security items I need ( pedal lock and steering lock ) also modified my drive with new gates to keep her consealed from delinquents !

Any advice on anything let me know ! Keen to explore some very mild green lanes around peak District with some of you lot!

Thanks for now
Andy

Out of sight in a garage is good. If not keep it parked where you and neighbours can see it. LR fitted alarms to some tratters but they is cr*p. The one @Mackers has got is good. Motion sensing of people and internal movement.

Hi and welcome!

Good call with the security measures. Don’t forget some pics of the Landy!

Welcome to the forum. As above but also keep an eye on the chassis and bulkhead. As they rust, keep treating them with a preventive like Dinitrol or waxoil etc. Ensure the drain holes are clear :)

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'm picking her up tonight so I'll take some snaps later:).

I'm exploring alarm & tracker options on Saturday with my local car audio place.

Not really considered a drive post... I'll look into that!

I was very selective so the chassis is absolutely mint and been waxoiled most her life. Bulkhead and cross member is in great condition... Just the door bottoms that need attention but it's not penetrated through to the outer skin yet.

You can get a tracker with a sim card so if the vehicle moves it sends a text to your phone & you can live track it
then call the plod to go & get it, personally id take great pleasure in getting it back myself wink wink :D

@Andyg4 - as above ;) ....

There's a thread on here about "vehicle tracking - a beginners guide" or something similar - the search if working should find it ....

The ability of a little box and a sim card to track your vehicle has to be seen to be believed ;);)
