I've got a 1984 90 that's had a 200 tdi conversion and unfortunately it needs a new clutch. The local garage where I normally take my other cars don't really know much about landrovers but are keen to do it. The guy told me he wasn't sure on price but he had £800-900 as an idea. So I'm fairly sure this is about double the price but wanted to check with you guys. Also, whilst on the topic...I've read a few older posts about best clutch kits but couldn't see anything current. Anyone recommend a good hd kit and where to get it from?

Ah cool, what I thought. How many hours would it take to change and what's the average labour charge then?

Bearmach did my Borg & beck kit for about 120 don't forget to get a heavy duty clutch fork fitted or a plate welded to the one supplied with the kit. If you do a lot of heavy towing then fit a clutch for a 130 as they take a beating but can be a bit heavy. While the box is off consider getting the rear crank seal done too. It's an easy job which can be done on your drive at home so don't go paying silly money!
