Hi everyone, I bought my present truck 8 years ago, it's a Series 2a 88" Safari.
I was until about 18 months ago using it as my daily driver. Then due to a short in the wiring loom took out my rear lights, I decided to take it off the road and restore it.
To date, I have the vehicle sitting on a new galvanised Richards chassis. The tub has a new floor sitting on new galvanised bearers. Bulkhead has been welded with new foot wells. Engine and box are back in with complete new clutch.
I have fitted new brake lines, but in places they are too long and need to be shortened, so I'm waiting for a kit for that.
Currently I'm getting the complete new wiring loom installed. I have the engine compartment one fitted loosely, and the front loom too. I have also laid out the rear loom to see where it all connects.
I have a question or two regarding the front loom. On that note, I will need to ask for some answers from the electrical buffs on here if I may ? It has me a little confused at present !
I will be back on tomorrow possibly to ask for help.

Welcome to LZ. :)

That sounds like an excellent vehicle, proper Land Rover!

Before I stripped my Landy down, it was Marine Blue. However it was re-painted that colour by the second owner. It was born from Solihull Dark Bronze Green.
This pic was taken just before I took it off the road for rebuild.

Here are a couple of shots of progress. If you look at the 'before' pic, you can see from the bumper being lower on the near side, the replacement dumb irons were welded on well out of line many years ago !
The chassis was like a patchwork quilt ! Even where it looked ok from the outside, I found when I cut it up for disposal that it was rotted thin from the inside all over the place !
