New battery

A bit of advice please
How long can you park your p38s before they discharge the battery
As I have just fitted a new 100ahr numax and sometime in the future would like to leave her parked up when we are away on hols how long should this be ok for{no known extra drain faults} Would puting her on trickle charge be the best option

yes - maybe get a solar charger

Longest ive left mine is nearly 2 weeks and it was fine, but i left it unlocked (secure place) just in case!

Left mine for 3 weeks all locked up a few times when away at work, had no problems yet touch wood. Did fit a new battery a year ago 96 ahr (20 hours) which was the recommended battery out of the suppliers manual.

Mine will go for 2 weeks but I always use a solar panel when I leave it for more than a few days, at the airport for example.

I think I'm going to need a new battery very soon - got the current one on charge after it totally discharged last week! Could you let me know which battery you've fitted? I've been looking for one to replace mine, but have failed to find one to match the size!

For the V8 Rangie I think you need a battery with at least 80amps

I have just put one on my other car (Grand Voyager CRD) but cost me £180
It's called an Optima and they are fantastic for cranking over a cold lump in the mornings, also cos the voyager has electric everything normal batteries don't last 6 months :doh:

So if you want to, or can, splash out on a decent battery I would recommend the Optima, it's compatable for any vehicle

Fit the diesel spec battery, max size you can fit, save you lots of agro

My halfords one lasted only 7 months, going to get my refund today. I need the highest capacity battery for a dhse auto. Anyone used a company called performance batteries?

Yes, I have used Performance Batteries 3 times (twice in the past on Discos), and more recentlyfor a new battery for my 2.5 DSE. I bought the Alphaline C31-1000 Battery. Great service and fast delivery - good batteries that seem to last as well. I have had no problems so far. Have left for over a week with no issues at all.
Although after a long engine rebuild which took me about 2 months (due to cold weather) I had to give it a bit of a charge

Solar charger less than £20 from maplins

My newish Varta 74/680 went through 2 weeks of freezing weather parked up outside at Gatwick, last month and I had that awful 'click click click' sound when trying to start it up Luckily had a jump to get going, not nice at 0500 in the morning !
