Hi Guys
I am renewing the rear airbags. My first ime : Pins on first bag were rusted solid and had a heluva job grinding it out. Have one new bag in and want air in it before I let down off the jack.
I have deliberately not put the new top pin in to wait the bag getting filled before inserting.

1. Can't seem to get air into the bag. No sign of air coming from the airline. I have closed boot & doors & and run engine for 10mins : I have run the pump through Faultmate which I have.
How long should the bag take to fill from new ?
Am I doing something stupid ?
Any help/tips appreciated.

Have you pushed the pipe fully home through the collet?

Maybe try taking the pipe out and manually running the pump and opening the corrosponding valve and seeing if you have air coming out....

If not, there could be a fault logged that has frozen the system - I take it you used the Faultmate to clear any faults first?

If you have it jacked up with the axle dangling, the ECU will have an out of range sensor reading and will do nothing. Jack the axle up or lower the car until the axle is at about normal height and try again. If it still doesn't go the EAS may have logged a fault.
Have a look at my guide in the "How To" section.

Stick a puff in with an air line that's what i do to seat the bags and line them up. Then you can partially let jack down and let EAS fill it.

I think you've got it in one, Data. It's so obvious when somebody else points it out.

Grateful for all responses as always.
