Afternoon all,

Thought I'd join the forum after owning the latest addition to the fleet for a few months.

Latest purchase was a Defender 90 300TDi with a few bits 'n' piees bolted on to make the off-roading a bit easier.... pictures to follow at some point!

Aside from the fact it's spent more time off the road than on it with issues such as propshafts/UJ's, and my latest purchase of a new R380 gearbox whilst i overhaul the replacement 1:1.22 transfer box, and general tidying up, I'm thoroughly enjoying life!

My biggest question (and please don't hate me or say use :search:) is regarding the LEZ issue. My P38 is compliant, but according to the TfL website, my Defender isn't. I've been reading so many sotries about re-categorizing the vehicle and re-registering with the DVLA, but am still none the wiser as to how mine sits....
It's a 1996 Defender 90 TDi, with a body type of Light 4x4 Utility (taken from V5), and taxed as PLG. It's a van-back with no rear side or top windows, but does have one rear bench seat bolted in and another in the garage that I could easily install. Front has 3 seats and belts, although I was planning on removing the front centre seat and replacing with a cubby box.

Can anyone shed some light on how I could potentially be complaint without spending thousands on a particle filter kit?!?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome and sorry to bear bad news

If originally a panel van, nothing you can do to make compliant without fitting strange exhaust kits

Believe only those originally manufactured as County Station Wagons with seats for passengers can be re-classified

It's rubbish I know
