Hello to all,
Right Here goes,
My neigbour has a Camoflarge Land Rover which he has given to me as he has just got a new 90 one and he just wants rid of his old one.

What should i look out for before i possiblly end up with somone elses possible rubbish on my drive? Beggars cant be choosers i know but sometimes these situations end up more hassel than they are worth!
I have always wanted a Land Rover especially a Defender type.
I have little knowledge about cars but can change a tyre and do a basic service air, fuel, oil filters and oil changes etc but i wouldnt do a cambelt for example.

am i going to be wasting my time? as do these vechicles require more of a mechanic/owner relationship rather than a novice/owner relationship.

Its a H REG DIESEL POSSIBLY EX Mod 110 and has had power steering fitted to it so his wife could drive it with the dog in the back.
Are these models to steer cleer of and would it be best to scrap it for example or are they worth keeping hold of? Pictures would speak a thousand words i know, will get some put on soon. just wanted to see the experts views, it runs and the bodywork has faded and it may need some welding apparently. Any knowledge or help welcomed!

Regards
