Nene Overland

Just wondering if anyone else had noticed how much of a rip off nene overland is? i bought my 1987 2.5td(19j) from them, body work ok (just been repainted) interior.....okish but the engine and running gear where awful!! i have had it for just under 3 years and have spend near enough 5 grand on it all of this being on engine and running gear. after buying it for 5,500 quid with 112,000 miles on the clock. a the time i was a land rover virgin and did not know about the different engines etc etc.
most of the parts in it where cheaply made after market parts.
one of my mates bought a land rover from them a 300tdi i think for 7,000 and within the first year the chassis needed to be replaced!!!
i saw a listing of theirs some where selling a 200tdi 110 120,000 miles on clock for 8,000 quid?!?!?!!? (once again the body work looked.....immaculate)
has any one else had this problem or heard of anything of this sort?

Most if not all of the big 4x4 companies that advertise in the Landy mags are rip off merchants.

I'm assuming that the £5k yu spent was mainly labour charges in garages As ya could of bought a brand new Galvanised Rolling chassis & Reconditioned engine & Gearbox and still had some change left over if you'd done the work ya self.

fook me dont say that lol. yer ur right unfortunatly i dont have the skills, time or tools to do everything my self. small things mabey but not a rebuild.
there was alot of labour charges but in the last year and a half i got a mate of mine who is a mechanic to do it for me so no labour, just parts and i still spent a bomb!
worst thing is there is no point selling it now cous it will never make back wat i lost and it wouldnt even come close even with loads of work!!

ya dont need to sell it, just make it as you like, its not a disposable after all

if people are stoopid enuff to pay there prices and buy from them then nene aint doin nuffin wrong..
