Hi all ..... Car had a bit of a fit when battery got low the other day, causing wipers to start on their own whilst I was at work ( car was at home) by time I got home battery was totally flat, have since recharged battery but now have srs light on with airbag fault ....... Is there anybody local to Milton Keynes with kit to reset this pls ....... Ps how many airbags in a p38 ?

You haven't got damp in the driver's carpet by any chance?

An SRS fault should need a full Faultmate or main dealer to clear.
However
You might want to try disconnecting and re-connecting your battery (do a search to do it properly) and check the yellow connector under the driver's seat and maybe the rotary coupler behind the steering wheel.

Cheers dogsbody, it's as dry as a bone ...... Will have a look at connector under seat tomorrow, do u need to remove any covers to get to the connector ?

CAREFUL - the yellow wiring / connectors are the airbag links. You don't want one of them going off in your face and many Rangies have them built into the seats. Disconnect your battery (get the procedure right) then go away and have a cuppa before you start messing with airbag wiring.
You might be able to see if by pushing the seat all the way back and using a torch. If there's one under the driver there'll be another under the passenger.
Damp would cause all of your problems. In the BECM it would turn your wipers on and might corrode the airbag connector.
I mentioned the rotary coupler because it has both wiper and airbag wiring running through it
If you can't find anything inside have a look, and a smell, at your under bonnet fusebox.

Mines a 96 ...... So wont bother looking under there then, so that'll just be the steering wheel and passenger dash bags then !!!

Plug behind instruments sometimes falls out if it's not been put in properly. And there are two bulbs for SRS warning. If one blows the other will stay on until blown one is replaced.
