Wanted a good conditioned V8 3.9 EFI 36D Auto box
Mine engine pressurised / had Heads off and skimmed, all carefully rebuilt new Rad n Water pump, runs smoothly, load of power. No white exhaust smoke, but still pressurises when worked hard.
Suspect dropped liner or crack
Anyone got a good 36D engine for sale.
Would prefer a whole wagon. So can be heard running. Disco 1 or RRC Scrapper.
Mines got the serpentine belt front end.
I'm Worcestershire area
Much appreciate any good engines for sale.

Yes as you say coolant pipes rock hard and will spew if I let it!
But after spending quite a lot on the top end , as previously stated (Heads skimmed and pressure tested etc)
Just seems such a shame as it runs so well!
Looking for big miracle! or any advise ;)

mine did exactly the same, but only when it was over about 80c. previous owner had drilled the thermostat so it only ever reached around 70c, in this state you could drive all day without issue

OK removed thermostat. Same issues when working engine harder.
Yes exhaust gases in coolant.
No oil in water. No water in oil.
Never misfires.
No white smoke after warmed up and the normal condensation evaporated off. Just pressurises and stats to blow a water out of header tank.
Water bleed and not overfilled.
Bugging the hell out of me.
Local Mech recons dropped liner or crack?

if both HG are good, the heads have been pressure tested and mating surfaces are flat and clean then the exhaust gasses can only come from one other source and thats a crack
in my opinion
Yep. That's were I'm at >
