Hi Guys,
Have invested in one of these magnificent beasts and would like to bring her back to looking her best.
She's that flowsy Spanish colour: that's the one 601 Rioja red.
Problem is that I can't find anybody to sell me some real paint on-line. Can buy the spray cans no problem but can't seem to track down the real thing for putting through a spray gun.
Would be grateful for any directions in which to look.
On a different tack now. Is it normal for the engine to have to get up to normal operating temperature for the gearbox to start changing up normally?
At the moment the engine is almost screaming in either first or second before it will change up cold but once warmed up all is well. Any ideas?
Have enjoyed some good reading on the forum, guess evryone is a bit crackers or they wouldn't own one of these!!

Hi jm76 did you introduce your self you get moaned at ignored if not its manners I suppose it's never botherd me . Try here for your paint Home | Brown Brothers Distribution I got some for my defender when I had one. I think you can only buy water based paint now not two PAC anymore . Euro environment laws .as for you gear box try a oil oil level check if not sure how old the oil is a filter/oil change won't harm see how you go from there cheapest way to start

As D300tdi says.....

The filter is no doubt blocked and could do with replacement and an oil change....

As the oil gets dirty and used, the filter gets blocked up and until the oil thins out when it gets warm it struggles to get through the filter.

New oil and filter change will work wonders.....and is usually the first port of call for gearbox issues.

:welcome2: btw.

And dont forget to put your location in as there may be someone close who can lend a hand.....also dont forget to mention year, engine type and other such mods as this is really helpful as there are many differences between models and years...!!!

Whoops, sorry for the lack of protocol and many thanks for your replies. Will give the oil/filter change priority.
She is an R plate 2.5ltr diesel auto, done 107K and is quite nice inside which is why we need the paint. We bought her for some heavy (boat) towing but have fallen for her as a nice place to be in.
We're on the Norfolk Broads at a place called Cantley which is famous because it has a sugar beet processing factory. (Famous? Remember I said we're in Norfolk  )
