I'm looking for some decent tyres that aren't ridiculously priced but can last a reasonable amount of time. i mainly use them for simple road use but i would like some that would be capable if i decided to get giddy and went off road, or in fields etc, i don't wanna be the n*b who gets stuck in a field because i've got **** tyres. Obviously buying cheap is ultimately buying twice but then again i can't really afford £150 per tyre, so kinda need a good compromise. The front tyres are what the garage fitted when i bought it and are not very good at all, and the back tyres are Toyo proxes t1 sport.

You should have the same on all 4 corners or you will sh@g your IRD. If they are different then measure them and make sure the bigger ones are on the back wheels.

You can have different on the back. As long as the bigger ones are at the back. And they will be different diameters even if the are 'the same size'.
Essentially, the back wheels need to rotate at the same speed as the front, or slightly slower. Otherwise the VCU will drive the back wheels all the time and die, probably taking the IRD along for company.

ah right i get ya, thanks for all ya advice :) i'm new to this 4x4 lark, there's quite a bit to learn with having a freelander, making sure all tyres are same, checking vcu, checking ird etc. but glad i can ask people on here for advice :)

The Events are about £55 each on Camskill plus £3 delivery, try black circles and oponeo.....lots of sites around.

See "what tyres have you got" thread ...a few threads down from yours :)
