Ok I need more advice on my brakes :scratching_chin:

I have a series 3 SWB with a perkins Diesel fitted the problem I have is my servo assisted brakes dosent have a vacuum pump from engine anymore so I need to fit an alternative pump. I'm thinking of putting an alternator from a transit van or a diahatsu fourtrak with the pump on the bak but need some advice on how to connect the return feed. I have a pipe from the sump which should feed the alternator vacuum pump but where should the return pipe go to, I have been told that possibly could fit a connection into the rocker box top but not sure if that would beable to cope with the oil as not really sure how much the oil flows.

Noticed on my other post someone suggesting a peugeot 205/405 brake vacuum which runs directly from fanbelt going to look into that to.

Hope you guys can help :D

Steve2286w - looks like I put my last post on the wrong thread. The idea would work but you need a butterfly valve to generate the vacuum. It might be possible to mod one off a 21/4 or 2.5NA diesel but clearance over the inlet manifold on a 4203 might be a problem.

pug diesels do have pump driven off the back of the cam via a v belt, and there is no oil feed, so its a nice easy way.
Ldv vans have the same thing too.
