was under my discovery today tinkering, and i notice on my engine behind the bottom pull wheel there's a hole with a thread inside with nothing in it. I was just wondering if any one knows why this might be or if i need to do anything about it. Its a 200tdi engine cheers for any help, jp

I have a feeling its for a rubber bung/bolt. On the 200tdi the cambelt is enclosed in a water tight alloy box.

Is that what your refering too?

Im not 100% sure though!!

Its the hole for the wading plug. Fine to leave unless your going through deep water in which case you need a plug.

Some folks only fit them when they know they're gonna be wading others leave them in all the time and take them out every now and then to let any oil build-up out

i think its where you connect the flux capacitor... as someone mentioned on another thread of someone asking exactly the same question
