you living with buyers remorse? lol
Not at all, with a very small budget and the need for a 4 x 4, there is very little choice. P38's are very cheap and parts are also cheap, plus full information is available in the form of RAVE. Being retired and having other vehicles, reliability is less of an issue and I like working on cars. I preferred my Pajero but I could not re-register it in France and second hand ones are very expensive as are the Toyota's.

nice, really like the blue colour

i always remember the P38s because the singer mark morission (return of the mack) used to have one with the number plate MM 96 (the year his song came out)
It's taken a while, but the green one is now fully operational, just needs cosmetic work, headlining, drivers seat etc.
Probably could do with new cam chains but it's not going to get done any time soon, I need to sort the drivers door lock and gearbox on the blue one first.

suppose the good thing is by the sounds of things you know what youre doing, so long as you got the funds and time, it should be a fun project :p

The P38 is cheap to run but never without it's niggles, I now have 2 on the road to try and ensure one is always available to use:rolleyes:. As for fuel, 24 to 30 mpg is no worse than my 1600cc sports car:D
That's not bad to be fair, I'm assuming that's for a diesel, my comment was mainly aimed at these big 4.2 and 5 litre petrol engines. I imagine driving one of them in a lively style would see single figure mpg. To be honest if I had money to burn I would buy one but I haven't and I can't afford another divorce either, I'm hoping the present wife will die before things get that bad

IMO those huge engine are entirely pointless in today's traffic and completely anti social planet destroying monstrosities that serve only as ego massagers.

You’d like the DT Col.
half to go wrong like a comfy tratter
I think OP is better going back to FL. nearly on page 8 already.

i do like Freelanders but just think if im going to get something, try something new

i really do have a lot of love for the L322 Range rover, love the look, the interior is pure luxury and class,it really does stand out to me,
just the thing is im so useless at DIY and handy work that if something goes wrong i will always have to go to a third party to fix it, unless of course its a small job im sure i can do that lol

If you like the Gaylander but fancy something different, maybe a bit more Liberace, try an Ejoke.
