Hi all ! Happy new year too . Not sure if this is the correct place to post , as this is first time on a Forum .
I have a Disco 2 V8 4.0 ES Auto 2001 . Good history well looked after I have had her for 6 months . Developed a misfire recently, worse under load up hill, and when the torque converter locks up . Sometimes backing off the throttle and reapplying settles it down , but only sometimes .
The plug leads were looking tired , and indeed one cable broke when I checked the sparkplugs , so decided to do plugs, leads, and the two coil packs , deep joy !
I think it did sort it out for a day or two but misfire is back , sometimes just an annoying , vibration , other times noticeable through lack of power , vibration and engine note change . It is defiantly once the engine is warm , from cold start she pulls like a train !! Also even when she's hot and misfiring under load , if you pull over she will idle perfectly , lovely even burble !!!! Starting from hot or cold is always on the button , hardly turns over before firing .
She's done 113,000 miles , uses no oil or water , well they all use "leak" a littler bit !! Always run her on BP ultimate or shell V power , have also stuck 2 injector cleaners through system but no improvement .
Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated !!!!!!
