Has anyone got an old HEVAC unit that doesn't work any more and they were thinking of throwing away? I have managed to break off some tiny tiny plastic tabs behind the 'AUTO' / Fan switch and the switch won't stay on now 
. I was thinking of stripping an old unit down to try and replace the part - its the clear plastic circular ring that the outer switch clips on to.
Alternatively, does anyone know if this ring comes out easily from the front - I daren't try to prise it out without further info, I've done enough damage already.
