Need 300 column help please!

Hi folks

I've got a late 300 disco (1999 t reg) with drivers airbag. I'm wanting to change back to the older style wheel with no airbag for a couple of reasons. I've had my wheel off and I've got an older type wheel but it appears I can't put the older wheel on my newer column.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience of this sort of thing or does anyone know how much of a job it is to change the column back to the older type

There's a thread already in the Forum where an original steering wheel is replaced although not with a disco one.

I can't find columns on their site but I can have a word like you say.

Has anyone changed a column before?

Mines the later 3 position one with airbag and I want to fit the old 5 position one with no airbag, but any column change experience would be good

I have never done it but I cant really imagine the mounting are going to be much different.
Only way will be to try it as it will only be a few nuts and bolts.
It may throw up a warning light though if the airbag is missing.

Cheers ruffday. Yeah looks like I'm gonna have to dive in, I just hoped someone would of done a column before and been able to tell me if there's anything else I will need to do the swap, it's my daily driver that's why I want To be able to do it as quick as possible. Not worried about electrical side to be honest it's sorted, cheers tho. Unfortunately the vehicle the other column is coming out of has a truck cab sat on its bonnet at the moment haha
