I'm ready to have the p**s ripped out as this must of been asked before :) but I have the hitch and want to make sure that it is fitted properly to the rear cross member.

I expected to fit a backing plate, part number NRC8323, and possibly a plate on the front for a break away cable, KNK500030, and possibly some spacers to prevent the whole thing being crushed or the back plate being pulled through with the bolts, BH112241L.

Does anyone know if there are spacers to be fitted between the plates or not and, if so their part number?

I have searched the forum and there was 55 threads with Nato hitch in them, this must be 56! :)

May need someone to confirm but i think that there should be tubes in the crossmember for the 4 holes which stop it all just being pulled in

Ugly, Did you get this sorted?

FI - TD5 x members are pretty thin so therefore need packing out on both sides of the x member. no need for spacers, just make sure the bolts are tight (as the TD5 one is threaded).

If its an earlier one you only really need a plate on the rear, but many people 'advise' a speader plate on the front also incase of any sideways pull/movement which may cause the hitch to twist the x member.

What you use is not really that important (PN wise) just make sure the speader plates are 8mm+ thick and cover a bigger area than the hitch. use rated M12 bolts and nyloc nuts on the rear.

these hitches are rated to 22tonnes! so go carefull on your next snatch recovery, you may pull your chassis apart.
