Hi
Just a general question, having just rebuilt Betsy's lump, I think I am quite lucky (and I think it must be luck only) that everything now is working. But I keep reading posts here about ECU/ Becm/ keyfob/ immobilizer/ injector timing etc faults and the problems getting them sorted in weird ways. So.. am I right in asking would a Nanocom cure all these faults when they come up.(and no doubt they are waiting just on the horizon everyday). Looking to buy one new and hope it will be the one stop fix for all the electrical issues that are in there. At least to stop me crossing my fingers every time I put the key in..

Nanocom will read and clear all faults, it is then up to you to cure them. I have a Faultmate, after initial problems with my car I have rarely had to use it except on other peoples cars.
Nanocom is the best there is, it was not around when I got the much more expensive Faultmate or I would have bought one. (I have no connection to BBS the makers of Nanocom)

Hi, thanks for this. I had the thought that I would have to do some spannering afterwards, but issues with keyfob batteries and resyncing, eka codes and lockouts on the roadside. Got to stop reading these posts. Credit card coming out.

It will do a BECM/Engine ECU re-sync, it will also allow you to enter the EKA code instead of having to do it with the key in the lock

Dependent on BECM fitted. Must be PAM V36 up. Will not do it on earlier BECM's. ;)

If it is of any relevance, the vehicle is edc1997. Otherwise is there anyway I can check this

That function will more than likely not apply to your car. But if you want to check there should be a label on the BECM, if it says PAM V36 it can be done, if it doesn't it can't. But it is a minor thing, the other things a Nanocom can do are what you are buying it for. It will save you a bloody fortune in diag charges. But you have to learn how to use it properly.

Thanks Wammers for that I will check the label in a minute. For my level I agree, probably good for reading faults, then search advice before pressing buttons.!!

Yep NEVER change a setting without noting original. Applies in particular to EAS. Particulars of functions for your car viewable here just look at the PDF's in the download section. https://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/
